Look Up! ... Cosmic Blue

Greetings Sky Gazers,
Luna is at her "Full" potential Tuesday, August 20 - 6:45pm PDT (01:45 UT Aug. 21) during the Sirius~Leo Cosmic Festival II. This 2nd Full Moon in the sign of Leo is an opportunity to deepen contact with the Sirian force––to fully connect with extraplanetary energies and strengthen our group alignment within the greater evolutionary context. The folks at SouledOut.org invite you to participate in the Sirius~Leo Cosmic Festival Global Meditation II.

Blue Moons ~ Cosmic Blue

The Sirius~Leo Festival II Full Moon is a seasonal Blue Moon, the third of four Full Moons in a single season. Most seasons have 3 named Full Moons. When there are four in a season, the third unnamed Moon is called a Blue Moon as stated by an arcane rule and the Farmer's Almanac 1932 through 1957.

A season is defined as the period of time between a solstice and an equinox, or vice versa. Most often, a season only has three full moons, so a Blue Moon by this definition only comes 7 times in 19 calendar years. EarthSky / Seasonal Blue Moon

The popular and "trendy" Blue Moon definition of the second Full Moon in a month is a misinterpretation of the arcane rule. A Blue Moon defined in this "mistaken" way comes 7 or 8 times in 19 calendar years. The next one occurs July 31, 2015. The Sky & Telescope Blue Moon Chart shows the dates of both types of Blue Moons from 1999 - 2020. Sky & Telescope reveals the entire lengthy story of the Blue Moon misinterpretation here.

Blue-colored Moons are real. How can this be? Well, when the air is filled with lots of particles .7 microns wide, red light is scattered allowing white moonbeams to emerge from the particles as blue. Smoke from volcanoes and forest fires produce such particles, so do tiny droplets in the air. Scroll halfway down this page to see the blue-hued Moon. Observers of lunar eclipses have reported shades of blue and turquoise bordering the red of totality. It is interesting to note that the "blue" Sirus~Leo Full Moon conjoining blue Neptune has spiritual cosmic blue connections:

[Masonry's] "Blue Lodge" with its three degrees is related to the three major groups of Lives on Sirius ... Alice Bailey / Rays and Initiations pg. 418.

Sirius Solar System states, "Sirians have dark blue skin because of the ultraviolet radiation on their planet."

Incarnations of Hindu gods are shown in blue color like Krishna, Vishnu and Shiva.

Each of us has a Blue Pearl seed of consciousness within the center of our head. It contains all the different planes of existence.

The enlivened true blue seed within our head gives us access to the guiding realms of Cosmic Blue.

Full Moon, Neptune, Aquarius
Enif, Fomalhaut and Regulus

The "blue" Sirius~Leo Full Moon resides in the constellation Aquarius along with nearby telescopic blue Neptune. Map The Full Moon moves toward Neptune as the hours unfold. Both are in exact conjunction 9.75 hours following the exact time of Full Moon. In addition, Neptune is in a close approach to the Earth at this time. The planet's closest approach, opposition, occurs August 26/27, a week after the Full Moon. Neptune's influence on humanity is greater the closer it is to Earth.

Neptune is the planetary inspiration for 'what moves us' at the soul level, and brings us together in recognition that we're One. Molly Hall / About.com

The Sirius~Leo Full Moon and Neptune join in the constellation Aquarius. Aquarius ever shines within the dark, paving the way for the soul and spirit to express through substance. The healing rays of this constellation cleanse that which must be purified until the dark has gone.

The Full Moon also diagonally aligns with Enif, the nose star of Pegasus the Flying Horse and with Fomalhaut the mouth star of the Southern Fish, Pisces Austrinus. Map Both stars in their own way stimulate humanity's integrity and the manifestation of a wholesome, altruistic humanitarian-based world.

The Sirius~Leo Full Moon is illuminated by the Sun near the star Regulus, the heart star of Leo the Lion. Regulus focuses and regulates the emanations of Sirius toward Earth. This Full Moon's link to the Regulus/Sirius connection is auspicious. Our Sun and Regulus are in exact conjunction August 22 about 2 days after the Full Moon.

The Sirius~Leo Cosmic Full Moon Festival and the days surrounding it are calling humanity to grow and manifest its "Aquarian" heart, to go deeper and recognize what is of value, what aligns us with the integrity of the soul, "what moves us" and brings us together in recognition that we're One in the greater cosmic context, evolving toward our divine destiny.
