Libra ~ Full Moon Festival on October 8

Libra Festival Overview
Wednesday, October 8 at 3:51 am PDT / 10:51 UT

The coming full moon ~ Sun in Libra, Moon in Aries ~ reverses the polarity of the 2 luminaries from their position at the Aries Festival of the Risen One that occurred this past April 15.

As the moon moves through the zodiac from Libra at the 9/23 new moon to Aries at the 10/8 full moon ... as we observe the moon as it waxes in reflecting the light from the Sun ... it's interesting to note that both this coming full moon during Libra and the Aries Festival in April are lunar eclipses relating the stepdown of energies from Aries and Libra (1). “The darkness of these eclipses demands we be receptive to the infinite unknown. We must stretch to expand our consciousness. We may feel like we are walking across a bridge to a brand new place, with no turning back from where we started.” (2)

The Uranus Lunar Eclipse is significant and potent. It impels a radical departure from the patterns and conformity of the past. It inspires unexpected, radical, spontaneous, innovate and progressive change, especially at an emotional and experiential level. A new Earth-Uranus annual synodic cycle also begins on the Full Moon eclipse, as Uranus and Pluto continue to tighten their orb toward the sixth of their seven Uranus-Pluto squares, occurring in mid-December. The eclipse sets a 6-month current in motion and the Uranus cycle sets a 370-day current in motion regarding the theme of these events defined by Uranus and the primary conjoining stars, Alderamin of Cepheus and Alpheratz of Andromeda.

Both these lunar eclipses ~ during Aries and now in Libra ~ are followed by a solar eclipse at the next new moon (April 28-29 / October 23).

Another note ~ this potent and significant lunar cycle is flavored by the recent announcement of Laniakea.

The Hawaiian name Laniakea means "immense heaven," a name that honors Polynesian sailors who navigated the vast Pacific Ocean from their knowledge of the stars in the heavens. The Laniakea Supercluster is believed to contain about 100,000 large galaxies. This model also reveals the relationship of Laniakea, our supercluster, with many other observable superclusters, like the Great Attractor.

Current world events, eclipses and newly announced scientific revelations are influences in our present Libra cycle experiences. Libra after all provides equilibrium on the probationary path in which we free choice is made, in preparation for Scorpio’s burning ground.

(1) Astronomically, from the sidereal perspective, at the October 8 full moon the sun conveys energy of the constellation Virgo with the moon reflecting that of the constellation Pisces.
