We Rise by Kneeling

You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe,
an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person,
but a focal point where the universe is becoming
conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.

Eckhart Tolle

Legendary Journeys of Hercules ~ Scorpio

The task of Scorpio finds Hercules slaying the 9-headed hydra. As he cut off one head, two more would take its place. Quickly becoming overwhelmed, Hercules recalled his teacher's words, "We rise by kneeling." As he lifted the monster into the air it gradually weakened, separated from its place in the mud and mire of the bog, and eventually died.

Finally we, as individuals, recognize that such a fierce creature dwells inside us. For Hercules, each time a head was chopped off two grew in its place. Much as, every time a low desire or thought is overcome, another takes its place.

What is needed to accomplish this labour, we all face? Using discrimination, we must first recognize the need to find the monster. Next, to discover its lair, we apply patience and muster up sufficient courage to proceed. Humility finally brings the slimy fragments of the subconscious to the surface, into the light of wisdom.

The task in Scorpio to destroy the Hydra is especially pertinent for lightworkers. As light attracts darkness (and vice versa), and we all know the feeling of being thwarted in our service from interference by lower energies and situations.

A key to success in overcoming such challenges is to “be not distracted” by the details of any situation that interferes with our goal, the greatest good for all involved. Instead of being glamoured by the drama we can simply recognize lower energies as such, and then address the situation by applying turning away from the darkness and setting our gaze onto the light of Spirit.

The Light of Scorpio is characterized as “the Light of Day” ~ “This is the place where three lights meet ~ the light of form, the light of soul, and the light of life. They meet; they blend; they rise.” (1)

As we invoke the Light of Scorpio to assist with overcoming whatever difficulties we may encounter, out of seeming chaos comes Clarity of Purpose.

In the mythical Scorpio Labor of Hercules, we are given essential tools to aid us in our service to the One Life.

1 “We rise by kneeling” calls us to invoke the Divine for assistance in overcoming any challenges. On our figurative knees, we are humbled in acknowledging our human frailty, in relation to the entire panoply of life that encompasses all the planes and vibrations.

2. Recognizing all the insidious heads of the hydra as one enables us “to seal the door where evil dwells.” We thereby invoke the Yoga of Synthesis.

The Hercules Labors are near and dear in the hearts of those who tread the Lighted Way. In some manner, during the annual cycle we are each given the opportunity to apply the lessons of the zodiacal Labor associated with the presently influencing sign, moving through all 12 zodiacal deities as they are focused into the Light of the sun as it passes in front of each constellation in turn, every month.

Hercules in the 21st Century ~ Scorpio Labor
Destroying the Nuclear Cartel

This supreme test represents raising the monster ~ all the accumulated evils, mistakes, and failures of long past ~ into the air of the spirit, wherein those energies cannot live. In the original myth, Hercules was told to find the 9-headed monster that lived in a stench-filled swamp. In the caverns of the mind, this beast ~ the nuclear stockpile of our modern day story ~ lives in us. The sinister invader is not to be found easily, having established its permanent residence in our subconscious.

Thank you, this has been very insightful. At age 33 I was awakened on 9-20-15. Suddenly I knew the truth and was filled with light, truth and love, I felt true bliss in every sense of the word. I could see the connection of everything, I could feel others who were awake and knew that many more would soon see. It took me a good week to understand the things I knew and what had happened to me. I was truly free, I needed nor wanted anything for myself. I started helping those in need and knew what each person needed. Everything was as it should be, I knew who I was and what I needed to do. Then I was given an incredible gift and the name of which it was to be I was told. When I looked up the name I found this beautiful site and everything I knew was confirmed. My wife didn't understand from the beginning. The more positive and true I was the more negative and hurtful she became. But it did not hurt me because I knew who she truly was. It only made me want to help to her and love her more. went on for a month and half or so, I stayed in the center by going outside at night, looking up and seeing withen. Her attitude got worse by the day and eventually she made it impossible for me to do what I needed to do. Then a few weeks ago I realized something had changed in myself, I couldn't see as I had seen, my anger and frustrations returned, the gift has not been sown, Things were no longer meaningless, the fire was gone and I was no longer as one. I felt empty and lost I felt like I had failed. And at that point in time my wife's attitude had reversed, the negative and hatefulness has stopped. Now she is supportive, uunderstanding and loving.
I read this post and it gives me hope. I'm still trying to find my true self again. If anyone has any guidance for one like me it would be immensely appreciated:)

Blessings for Your Journey

Hello SkyFire63915,

Your testimonial and request for guidance are much appreciated, for all who are in a body are challenged to maintain the lofty realization we know in our Hearts to be so.

Perhaps this brief excerpt from "An Esoteric Catechism" will provide solace and inspiration in our universal connection ~

What part, O Pilgrim on the Way, play you within this scheme? How will you enter into peace? How stand before your Lord?

I play my part with stern resolve, with earnest aspiration; I look above, I help below; I dream not, nor I rest; I toil; I serve; I reap; I pray; I am the Cross; I am the Way; I tread upon the work I do; I mount upon my slain self; I kill desire, and I strive, forgetting all reward. I forego peace; I forfeit rest, and in the stress of pain I lose myself and find Myself and enter into peace

By coincidence a friend and coworker sent this teaching today, in a wonderful quote ~

The method for taking all situations as the path is to rest within the essence of the mind. Within our minds, there are three aspects: the way things appear, how they are confused, and the way they actually are. We do not take our difficulties as the path in relation to how things appear or are confused, but in relation to how they actually are. We rest naturally within their nature—the clear and empty nature of the mind that is sometimes called the union of clarity and emptiness or the union of wisdom and the expanse. We rest within this, recognizing it. When we take sickness as the path, we look at the essence of the sickness without altering it in any way and just rest naturally within that. When we take the afflictions as the path, we just look at the essence of the greed, aversion, or delusion that has occurred. We do not follow the affliction or block it. We do not try to stop our thoughts. Instead, we look at those thoughts and at the afflictions that occur, and we rest naturally within their inherently empty essence.
