Look Up! ... Wesak + Saturn, Mars, Antares Triangle

Hello Sky Watchers,
April 7, 4:24am PDT marked the beginning of the 2016 Wesak lunar cycle that ends May 6, 12:29pm PDT. Forces of enlightenment from our highest spiritual planetary center, Shamballa, are released during this lunar cycle's Full Moon Festival, April 21/22. The Wesak Festival is the second of the three major planetary Full Moon Festivals that occur in the spring. The first, March 23 penumbral lunar eclipse, aligned with the Christ (Easter), the second, April 21/22, aligns with the Buddha (Wesak) and the third, May 21, with the spiritual and Divine nature of humanity (Goodwill). These Festivals form a spiritual high point of the year.

The Wesak Full Moon is exact at 10:24pm PDT Thursday, April 21 (05:24 UT Friday, April 22). Look east (left) of the Moon, and view Saturn and Mars in a striking triangle with Antares, the heart star of Scorpius the Scorpion. See map below.

The folks at SouledOut.org invite you to celebrate the current lunar month by participating in the Wesak Full Moon Festival Global Meditation, celebrating the Festival of Shamballa ~ the Festival of the Buddha.

Lunar Theme: Financial Affairs "This April 7, 2016 New Moon conjoins Uranus ... Although we have completed the Uranus-Pluto square [*], the square is still dispersing, within a 3° orb. This New Moon also aspects the Jupiter-Saturn square ... Thus this lunar cycle engages and emphasizes the energetics of both squares, initiating action to create revolutionary change ... and to relinquish antiquated structures ... Stars conjoining ... include Revati of Pisces ... This Uranus-Revati-lunar cycle, involving ... Uranus, Haumea [*] and Eris [*], brings attention to financial resources and financial affairs, both personally and globally, the control of money and to how it is used ... The Wesak Moon moves eastward, toward the constellation Scorpius.
Retrograde Saturn (Mar. 25-Aug.13) and Mars (Apr. 17-June 29) are both
slowly headed westward toward the constellation Libra. Saturn and Mars form
a shape-shifting triangle with red Antares, the heart star of Scorpius the Scorpion.

Note: For those living in San Francisco the exact Full Moon takes place low on the southeastern horizon, about 1 1/2 hours before midnight. The Moon is located in the same constellation for other parts of the world; this constellation, in differing time zones, lies in a different location above or below the horizon.

In San Francisco the Wesak Moon rises Thursday evening, April 21, at 7:25pm, Mars 10:45pm and Saturn 11:15pm. See Rise/Set Times ~ Major Bodies for your area. Saturn, Mars, Antares Triangle

Look Up! Any late night or early morning, along the southern horizon, during this lunar cycle and the next, you can observe a striking and colorful triangle formed by yellowish Saturn, reddish Mars and reddish Antares, the heart star of Scorpius the Scorpion. You will notice the colors with your unaided eye, however binoculars will make the hues vivid. Review map and links in the "Note" below the map.

Note: Both Mars and Antares are red for two different reasons. Mars is reflecting the Sun's light off its red soil and the star Antares is emitting its own light which is an indicator of its surface temperature. Saturn looks yellow to us because its atmosphere is reflecting light from the Sun.

Both planets appear bigger and brighter than Antares because they are moving closer and closer to Earth. During a close approach to Earth Saturn and Mars also appear to move westerly in a retrograde motion. Their movement in relation to Antares and each other creates a triangle that shifts in shape. View daily or weekly to check out the shape formed by this celestial triad.

Note: Normally Mars looks the size of Antares. However, 150,000 red planets could line-up side by side across the middle of the giant star Antares. The star is so far away from Earth it never seems to move, and it always looks the same size to us. Look Up! Notice the big difference in size between red Mars and red Antares at this time, during the Red Planet's close approach to Earth.

BTW: Mars' closest approach to Earth in 2016 occurs May 30, Saturn June 3.

April Mornings, Look for the triangle in the south before dawn. Map You can also view it late in the evening, in the southeast.

Reflections ~ Antares the Heart of Scorpius,
Retrograde Saturn (Mar. 25-Aug.13)
Retrograde Mars (Apr. 17-June 29)

Scorpius influences a turning point in the life of humanity and in the life of the individual human being. "Rebellious" Antares demands we take a stand for our truth. The emanations of this star create struggles that keep our visions current and ensure growth, evolution and change, especially for humanity's governing systems.

Mars, a planet of action and forward motion, frustrates us with its retrograde, backward, westerly motion. It's as if we are paddling upstream amid a sea of obstacles. Retrograde Saturn wants us to slow down, stop, go within and reflect on our roots / the intentions of our Soul. Are our goals compatible with our spiritual integrity?

Mars and Saturn are putting on the breaks for the rebellious Antares energies, which keep getting stimulated by the shape-shifting triangle of the two planets and the star. Truths must be expressed now, and our angers, resentments and frustrations run high, while internal pressures lead to outbursts and explosions.

This is not a time to initiate anything new. It is a time to review, reevaluate and realign with our integrity. Patience, persistence and rest are one’s allies in dealing with agitation and disruptions. Stay open to change. Be still and know.

This lunar cycle takes us through the April 19 doorway into the seasonal sign of Taurus. It peaks April 21/22 with the Wesak Full Moon Festival, the Festival of the Buddha ~ the Festival of Shamballa. The 2016 Wesak lunar cycle, which ends May 6 provides an opportunity to participate in an ancient, living, sacred ritual. It is a time when the Forces of Enlightenment pour into the world, the fires of initiation rage and blessings come to all of humanity.

This Wesak lunar cycle is also, as Nick Fiorenza reminds us, "initiating action to create revolutionary change ... and to relinquish antiquated structures ... [It] brings attention to financial resources and financial affairs ... the control of money and to how it is used ... "

As the Buddha and the Christ come together for the greatest good for all Life ... let us come together to continue their great unifying and undying work. The Wisdom of these great Sages is passed on to us, through the Ages.
